NEW YORK (Worthy News) – US President Donald Trump has presented a detailed plan to end the war in Gaza, secure the release of remaining hostages, and oversee reconstruction of the Strip under non-Hamas authority. The initiative was outlined Tuesday during a high-level meeting with leaders from eight Arab and Muslim countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, according to Arab diplomats familiar with the discussions.
Trump’s 21-Point Plan
The framework envisions a multi-week ceasefire, during which all 48 remaining hostages would be released, followed by a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Humanitarian aid would be funneled into the enclave through international institutions, and governance structures would be established that exclude Hamas. Parts of the proposal draw on a plan recently advanced by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, but Trump’s version goes further by addressing the immediate end of the war.
A US official said the initiative consolidates previously suggested ideas into a practical framework, with Washington warning that military support for Israel will continue unless Hamas agrees to free all hostages and relinquish power in Gaza.
Arab Leaders’ Response
Representatives from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan received the proposal ahead of the sit-down and issued a joint position paper. The document welcomed Trump’s framework, emphasized the urgency of freeing hostages, and stressed the need for humanitarian relief in Gaza.
However, the position paper also rejected any Israeli military occupation of Gaza, settlement activity, forced displacement of Palestinians, annexation of Judea and Samaria (also known as the West Bank), and violations of the status quo at Jerusalem holy sites.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan described the meeting as “very fruitful,” while the UAE’s state news agency said discussions prioritized a permanent ceasefire, humanitarian access, and the hostages’ release.
Annexation Issue
According to multiple sources, Trump assured Arab and Muslim leaders that he would not allow Israel to annex Judea and Samaria, echoing warnings conveyed privately to Jerusalem earlier this week. Politico reported that Trump was “resolute in his position” on the matter, despite pressure from Israeli officials.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to raise the issue directly with Trump during a White House meeting scheduled for next Monday. While the Trump administration has publicly avoided a hard stance on annexation, officials have blamed recent European recognition of Palestinian statehood for fueling Israeli consideration of the move.
Looking Ahead
Trump called the session “my most important meeting,” telling reporters beforehand: “We want to end the war in Gaza. We’re going to end it. Maybe we can end it right now.” He noted that Israel was not present but would be “next,” referring to his upcoming talks with Netanyahu.
US envoy Steve Witkoff later told a New York conference that Washington is “hopeful… even confident that in the coming days we’ll be able to announce some sort of breakthrough.” He confirmed that Trump’s 21-point plan had been shared with Arab leaders this week.
Arab diplomats cautioned, however, that while Trump’s plan addressed key regional concerns, it was unclear whether Hamas would ever accept the terms.
Prophetic Implications
This initiative comes in the midst of the Days of Awe—the solemn period between Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) and Yom Kippur. Many discern prophetic significance in these developments, recalling Joel 3:2, where the Lord warns of judgment on nations that “divide My land.” Viewed through a biblical lens, attempts to alter Israel’s boundaries during this sacred season highlight the profound spiritual weight of current events and the striking convergence of geopolitics with prophecy.
